College Park Scholars Alumni Association, Inc.
Policy on Membership Security and Confidentiality
1) For the purposes of communication and recruitment, the College Park Scholars Alumni Association, Inc. (CPSAA) collects and stores information about College Park Scholars (Scholars) alumni that primarily includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Name;
- Contact information (phone/fax numbers, address, email address);
- Occupational information;
- Information related to their participation in and graduation from Scholars and the University of Maryland;
- Interest in supporting specific CPSAA initiatives and goals;
- Other information as provided or requested.
2) This information is for the sole use of the above stated purposes, is considered confidential within the association and will not be disseminated to individuals or groups that are not specific members of the CPSAA Board of Directors or the CPSAA Alumni Council, as stated in the bylaws, without the approval of the individual alumnus and consent from the CPSAA.
3) The CPSAA may properly disclose collected information in accordance with required filings to government agencies.
4) Any requests for any part or all of this information from other outside sources must be presented to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors, in writing, for direct approval. All requests, either granted or denied, will be filed for a minimum of three (3) years.
