Current Scholars are invited to attend a session devoted to making themselves aware of the options they have after they graduate from the Robert H. Smith School of Business. Scholars alumni currently practicing general business, marketing, finance, logistics and supply chain management, operations management, information systems, accounting, international business and those currently in school seeking their MBA will serve on the panel. Additionally, an advisor from the Robert H. Smith School of Business will be in attendance to take questions.

Around 20 current Scholars spent a session devoted to making themselves more competitive for a life in government and politics. Scholars alumni currently working on the Hill, governmental agencies, or pursuing graduate degrees participated on the panel.
A Night at the National Harbor

A group of Scholars alumni and guests embarked on an adventure at the new and exciting National Harbor. We began the afternoon with a 45-minute Potomac River speedboat and sightseeing tour cruise on the Seadog , where captains led us on a tour of historical landmarks and monuments. Following the cruise, we gathered at Public House for a happy hour.

Scholars alumni gathered 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at McFadden's in downtown DC to cheer on the Terps as they took on the Blue Devils. Attendees enjoyed drink and food specials while watching the game on flat screens in a dedicated viewing area.

Ms. Erica Rossi, Chairman of the Board of CPSAA and Manager at ICOR Partners, LLC, discussed ways to maximize an internship experience, where to search for opportunities, and much more. Additionally, Mark Kenyon, Associate Director of the University of Maryland Career Center, was on hand to offer advice.
UM School of Music: Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols

Alumni, campus and community members gathered at the seventh annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, modeled after the world-famous Christmas Eve tradition of King’s College in Cambridge, England. Held in the UM Memorial Chapel and led by directors Stephen Holmes and Timothy Reno, the event used the original format of the first festival service in 1918. The service featured the UMD Men's Chorus and Women's Chorus; the Maryland Boy Choir; readers from the University campus and surrounding community; and audience participation.
